CityBox: Hi Branda, with your newly minted company, being married, carting your little ones to sports and extracurricular activities, how do you balance it all & what have you sacrificed (both personally and professionally) at each stage of your career?
Branda: Balancing the life of a creator and mother can have its challenges. As an entrepreneur, it is sometimes hard to flip the switch off. However, I have learned that organization saves me time and provides consistency and efficiency. Earlier in my journey I would work all day and night and I wasn’t as present as I could have been in my family. However, now I have made the necessary adjustments and I am at every basketball game, every dance recital, helping with every homework assignment and even have time for date-night.
Q: 3 things that we should know about you?
3 things you should know about me, 1. I am extremely generous, to a fault. 2. I was born and raised in California and have been in Georgia for 17 years. 3. I am a former professional dancer.

Q: What fuels your drive?
What fuels my drive would be my family. I look in the eyes of my husband and children and see the determination in them, and because of what has been instilled in them, I am doing the same.

Q: What's been your most successful approach in building business relationships & why?
The most successful approach to building business relationships is by “putting yourself out there”. That means, getting out in the community and not to hide behind emails. Hosting and attending events has allowed me to meet some tremendous people over the years.

Q: What are the lessons you've gained that have profoundly shifted your professional path?
Lessons I have learned in entrepreneurship is the importance of not over-committing. I have always come from the place of yes. Yes, to discounting my services, yes to attending events yes, to this and yes, to that. But when saying yes to everyone, I was wearing myself down. I didn’t have time to recoup or to prioritize myself. This was major for me because I love to please others, but I have learned that I have to take care of myself first.
