Q: Lessons that you’ve learned that shifted your mindset to optimize how to practice your leadership/business?
I went to a conference and I was so prideful that I wouldn’t listen to the guy who was presenting. The next guy came up to talk about real estate but he said a phrase that changed me. “If you are going to be in this game you have to be humble and teachable.” I instantly thought about the gentlemen who presented before and rushed to the back to apologize. If you aren’t humble enough to recognize that there are things you need to learn and teachable enough to receive the instruction, business isn’t the game for you.

Q: What exciting projects are you working on?
The most exciting project that I am working on is the Master Builder Channel on XOD Network (Download Now) and Vipsocio. The reason that this is so exciting is because I feel like there are so many people and businesses doing amazing things without the platforms to give them the exposure they need or deserve, we can give them that exposure now. I have new shows coming to my channel most notably “Visit Vipsocio” about the products/events on our platform and working on my first feature film “Esau The Master Builder.”

Q:What is your ultimate vision for your company?
The number 1 place for people to go to improve and get better. We will have health centers all over the world to rebuild communities and bring healing to the masses. My channel will produce the best positive, enlightening, and entertaining content for people to consume. Vipsocio will connect Africa to the world by helping their business owners export their products to the world.

Q: Who are your mentors that impacted your professional/personal journey?
Dominique Mitchell Co-Founder of XOD Network and Innocent Wamey CEO of Vipsocio. Dominique said to me “Birth on the earth what you are worth and stop giving away your purpose.” When I was really struggling in Atlanta to find my way and needed that encouragement. Innocent my partner from Vipsocio always says to “Think Big” it just challenges me not to set limits and go after what I desire. That is the reason why I partner with them now. Grayson Marshall Jr. is my coach he always says “Own where you are, no excuses, and no explanations.” Talks about being patient if you know that everything is working out for you then don’t get frustrated by the process, enjoy it. I’m working on that more.

Q: The type of networking gatherings that make sense for you and vital to the growth of your company?
CityBox Media events have been vital to the growth of my company and my influence here in Atlanta. You meet so many great people but Maryan challenges you to create relationships outside of the networking at the event. Having the follow up meetings really helped me get traction as a new business in Atlanta. There are CEOs in the room and in rooms like that you can make a lot of traction because you are dealing with decision makers. Our Vipsocio events are awesome! So much talent and amazing products, if you are looking to have a great time with good music that’s the place to be.

Q: Your hometown?
I am from Lincoln, Nebraska, I came to Atlanta after three years in Jacksonville, Florida. My family is very prominent in Nebraska and have done so many major things but it’s on minor scale because nobody really knows about Nebraska. My goal has always been to shine a light there and create pathways for them to be seen. Jacksonville was a necessary training ground for me because I was so sheltered in the Midwest and people are so nice. I needed that before I moved here in April of 2021. I tell people the 402 raised me, 904 made me, and the 404 pays me!
Q: What are you reading right now?
I’m reading my books right now because I believe sometimes our own words are the most powerful. My books are “Define Your Value” “Refine Your Value” the last one I hate and I’m rebranding but it’s called “Jail Virgin”. They are all about taking your pain and turning it into your power.
Q: Business secret you’re comfortable sharing with the world?
The only cure for doubt is…..ACTION!!! Take Action Today Not Tomorrow!! The more that we believe in ourselves the more we can achieve in business and in life. It all starts with belief so take the risk make the move. Action gets things done, nothing has ever been achieved by just thinking. Make the move and then learn from the results of your action. That way you can act again with more knowledge and intention.

Q: What was your key driving force to become an entrepreneur?

Q:What is your favorite aspect of being an entrepreneur?
The freedom and possibilities. Being able to wake up with my daughter or to support my family when they need help. I love that every day I am one call away, one connection away, one meeting away from changing my life or someone else’s. Seeing your friends in business WIN because I know my effort had something to do with that. Plus there are millions out there for us to go get and that is my intention to be the example of success. Not just money but to have the health, family, friends, and influence to reach the masses.

Q: What motivates you?

Q: Who’s your favorite entrepreneur that inspires you?
In Atlanta, Miguel Wilson is an icon, I used to visit his shop at Phipps before I moved here and knew one day I was going to have one of his suits. I had a big event and he gave me a great price on a jacket to wear. I have been to his Fashion and Polo Classic for two years straight and it’s one of my favorite events of the year. Nipsey Hussle was my favorite entrepreneur because he was so authentic. There are so many things that he did for his community and leading the culture. That is what I want to embody and do for the people who follow me. There is a comedian named Lil Duval, who hosts an event called Duval Day in Jacksonville every year. He buys all this food and just throws a huge celebration to give back to the community. I just desire to be able to be a role model for the children in my community the same way.
