Brief overview about your book:
My husband and I have been business owners of a floor covering company for 13 years. I took a step back five years ago to devote my time to our children and maintaining our household. Little did I know that was when my spiritual journey would take a turn for more than I imagined. I have spent the last five years engulfing myself in book, after audible book, after podcast; it consumed me. I didn’t quite understand why until I read a blog post one morning regarding name meanings. My name Melissa means ‘honeybee’ and in ancient mythology, Melissa was the “Queen Bee Goddess”. Like the bee I had been a tireless worker. I had been gathering information from many sources, never trusting just one source for the accuracy that I was seeking. Melissa is never satisfied until she has searched and researched what it is, she needs to know. She then stores all this in her heart, not just in her head. I just knew there had to be secrets to life that I had yet to witness or experience. I know now with 100% certainty that I am a part of the transitional team who at a soul level is devoted to creating harmony on the planet (Heaven on Earth).

As a leader, it is important to maintain connections with role models and mentors. Who do you look up to for inspiration or mentorship?
I would have to say that I look up to Rhonda Byrne for inspiration and mentorship; she has been the most impactful and influential to me. I love how she applies knowledge from many sources throughout her teachings. I have read all her books and I just started her most recent book “The Greatest Secret”. The opening sounds just like I am reading my own story. She has been on a constant search just like me to find the secrets to life.

In my opinion, the most successful attributes of successful leaders are speaking appreciation and life over others, practicing daily gratitude, and walking with daily integrity. They recognize something in you that they also recognize in themselves.

What is something you wish someone had told you during your career journey?
I wished someone had told me early on in my career journey about the importance of gratitude, prayer, and meditation. The daily practice of gratitude, prayer, and meditation has made all the difference. “You don’t meditate to get good at meditating; you meditate to get good at life.”

What are your current goals?
My current goals have turned into vivid visions. I actually no longer set goals for myself. I now do daily mediations and I pray for daily guidance for my steps... How do you continue to grow and develop as a leader?
I continue to grow and develop as a leader by competing with the person that I was yesterday. Growing and developing is a huge part of human evolution. I am an avid reader; it is how I start each and every day and it is one of my favorite things to do. I also listen to podcast, YouTube, or Audible daily. I have a constant need to be learning. It is ingrained in me!

Q:What three books can you recommend on leadership and why?
The top three books I recommend on leadership are Super Attractor by Gabrielle Bernstein, Zero Limits by Joe Vitale, and The Magic by Ronda Byrne. The Super Attractor lays out the essentials on how to become a super attractor without having to work so hard. Zero Limits presents a proven way to clear out unconsciously accepted beliefs, thoughts, and memories that you didn’t even know that you were holding on to, and how to break through those self-imposed limitations. When you heal yourself, you heal those around you; it’s the ripple effect. The Magic by Rhonda Byrne is my absolute favorite; it is the number one book that altered my life. It reveals life-changing knowledge about the power of gratitude that was hidden within a two-thousand-year-old sacred text.

Three things that we should absolutely know about you.
Three things that you should absolutely know about me is that self-care and my spiritual practice/rituals are essential in my everyday life. When I feel good, I am vibrating at a higher frequency. Shining in my own light allows others to rise and to shine in their own light. I love supporting and helping others recognize their own greatness, so they can rise to become their highest self (Queens support Queens). Last but definitely not least my family unit means more to me than anything else in the entire world!
